The Sopranos Finale
I am just going to say it... After I heard this explanation, I can not see it any other way. Basically, Tony was shot in the head. That is why it goes dark and silent. Tony (and we) don't hear the shot because the bullet travels faster than sound. It gave me chills. It works for me.

I agree, I think this is what happened, as someone pointed out in this community bada_bing , they showed a flashback last week, where Bobby and Tony talk about it in the boat, that everything just goes black...but I think ending the show with the last shot on Meadow was confusing. I would have had a shot of Tony, seeing Meadow, smiling and then turning his head toward the bathroom, his face darkens and then the screen goes black. The show has always been from Tony's view, so I agree the ending makes sense that way but not the way it was shot, imo.
